Many individuals and companies use a dedicated hosting solution if they plan to resell hosting to their clients. They, in effect, become the hosting provider and host multiple websites on a server they are able to control and configure for their needs. This is often referred to as reseller hosting. In today’s competitive market there are many discount hosting providers that offer reseller hosting without the need of a dedicated server. Our experience has been that in most situations a dedicated hosting solution is not required. There are select circumstances that make it the best solution taking into account traffic, bandwidth and storage requirements but these are not the norm. We recommend to our clients that they start their business on a shared hosting platform and grow into a dedicated server as their business and system requirements increase with the success of their online presence.
